The weather cooperated other than a sprinkle or two and C.E.'s Helping Hands Fun Fest for 2010 was a tremendous success this year. The party started on Thursday night with some of the members arriving at that time to get ready for the weekend. The 4-wheeler and motorcycle that was being raffled off were taken down to the carnival grounds that evening and the folks really bought up the tickets which helped with our fundraiser tremedously. Friday the bulk of the people started arriving and several improptu rides materialized utilizing the biker friendly roads in the area. Friday afternoon the Fellowship ride took place with about 20 motorcyles for a fantastic 30 mile ride through the countryside. Friday evening was music and food and sitting by the campfire. Saturday the Poker Run started at 10:00 am with about 70 motorcycles registered. The ride went from Franklin over Rt.33 to Judy Gap and then to Jordan Run Road with a stop at the store in Jordan Run over to Rt. 42. From there to Petersburg with a stop at the VFW for a cold one and then the backroads through Dorcas, Mozer, Upper Tract then back home. After the ride there was a "White Elephant Auction" where the Club raised over $600.00. Alter that the winner of the raffle was announced and from then on it was excellent music from the bands "Mad River" and "Push to Start". Music, fun and wonderful food from the people from the Franklin Bowling Alley was the ticket for the whole evening. Over $2500.00 was raised for the Club during the weekend and thanks go out to everyone who made the weekend a success.
